2018/19 new light

hi guys, long time without paying a visit to this site.

today i returned to check a 'gossip' that is running around in brazilian exjw forums.. they are stating that is almost certain they will make a big change in their doctrine maybe this year yet in the annual meeting.

they say people in warwick were commenting on this.

2034. I know, it is total bat poop crazy, but...I hear several PIMIs speculate about Noah's 120 years: "1914 + 120 = 2034"

The question is will the GB be so shallow that they will try to do what their forerunners have repeatedly got away with? The date is already "out there" in PIMI JDub land. So, do the GB milk it for all it's worth and add some "credulity" to this rumour, or do they reach out to clutch some other straws? My guess is that they won't be able to resist.

It preserves the sanctity of 1914
It preserves the 1919 date claim for divine selection
It worked on all the other dummies in past generations (1799 1844 1874 1914 1925 1975 2000...)
It' the only card left up their sleeve
They stop house-to-house work (for legal reasons) and claim Jehovah shut the door of the ark... "hit that hysteria button!"

Is Child Abuse An Issue That You Personally Have Seen In The Organization?

as an elder, i saw one child abuse situation involving a man who wanted to be an elder and had i believe 8 children.

he was not in our congregation when this all erupted.

he denied it and moved to another hall and unbelievably, that body of elders wanted to appoint him since they believed his entire family was lying about him.

I've been in a total of 9 congregations. Sadly, EVERY ONE OF THEM had one or more paedophiles in them. Every one of them. In one rare case, the perp voluntarily walked into a police station and handed himself in. In another, the perp took his victims to "clean the Kingdom Hall" - yes, he did it Inside the Kingdom Hall. I have the personal satisfaction of going AGAINST the instructions of the CO - who threatened that if I did NOT call Watchtower legal desk first, I would be deleted as an elder - and I assisted the victim to report to the police.

(I never was deleted as an elder - it was assumed the victim went to the police independently.)

a circuit overseer or a member of the gibbering body is giving a talk about demonism and he says the following, "there was an elder in a congregation in california who let his 8-year-old daughter watch disney movies that involved witches, gremlins, magic, and sorcery.

many may feel that they are harmless movies and are just entertainment.

well, the 8-year-old daughter actually brought a blue smurf doll to the public talk and watchtower study.

We were on our way to the local pub after the School and Service meeting; if we got there by 10:30 we would get a pint in before closing time (11:00) and walk home.

It was a dark night, with fog and mist illuminated by the full moon. As we got nearer to the pub, down the country lane at the side of the Kingdom Hall, we squinted as a bright light nearly blinded us! It stopped about 500 yards into the distance, and we could make out the silhouette of a dark figure. It appeared to move away from the bright light, towards the thick hedgerows. Then, we heard a sharp sound like the hiss of a snake! We could make out what looked like a yellow-green translucent laser emitting from the creature into the hedgerow. Some kind of steamy smokey effect rose from the hedgerow into the foggy night.

After observing this scary phenomenon for about 2 minutes, the laser stopped, the creature manoeuvred back towards the light, and then we heard a high-pitched electrical whir sound and the bright light headed towards us!

We dived into the hedgerows and the light headed straight for us! When we scrambled back onto the road we all ran towards the pub screaming.

As we walked in, the barman advised us that the toilets were closed for maintenance. "Did you see Mike the Milkman on your way in?", he asked. "He's just knocked back 8 pints but had to leave early in his electric milk float"

Our fear subsided as we began to rationalise our experience that evening...

As of the August 2018 monthly broadcast, this is now "old light"; you should not use a "broad" brush or "roller" - elders will dictate the brush width, up to 2 inches.

You don't say! Er, an appealing mass homicide of all non JWs, the family-uniting love seen when parents shun their children, and the edifying truth that any type of education outside the cult is from Satan. Ooh..it's soooo inviting - let's all wax lyrical about these "beliefs"...

In the 2014 film Interstellar the father (Cooper) returns after experiencing the effects of relativity to his (now old) daughter (Murph). This is the only example of a generation where the lives of old and young overlap that is extended any reasonable scientific debate; it just might be theoretically possible. Any notion of some hidden Biblical meaning, promulgated by desperate old men keen to maintain duplicity of their followers, isn't worth the time of day!

(Oops! I just realised, therefore, how hypocritical of me it is to consume time compiling this post...)
